However he defied his ancestors
known as the sixth Mogul Emperor,
of the Rightly Guided Islamic Caliphs.
The last of the great Muslims in India,
Was renowned for his piety, justice, and asceticism.
He fought for the faith, personally leading 11 battles,
He memorized the Holy Quran.
Abolished oppressive taxes.
And prohibited alcohol and music.
He established schools, mosques, and hospitals.
And documented his thought in his famous book,
“The Young Woman and the World”.
During his reign,
He fought for the faith in God, in India,
Millions of Indians embraced Islam.
He ruled an empire stretching from Kashmir to the Deccan.
Yet, he slept on a mat,
And earned his living by personally handwriting copies of the Quran.
The light of Islam shone brightly through him throughout his life,
But with his death, the sun of greatness set over India.
